Not a question. A declaration.
The Concept
A taunt thrown at the grave. The grave has no answer.
It reads like a question. It is not one. It is the sound of someone standing on the far side of the worst thing, daring death to produce the weapon that used to work — and death coming up empty-handed.
The sting is gone because the sentence has already been served. What is left to fear from an enemy that has already spent everything it had?
So you say it the way it was meant — not trembling, not hoping, but declaring: Death, where is thy sting?
— 1 Corinthians 15:55
